Texas Tech Adds Two FCS Opponents To Future Schedules

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have added two FCS teams in Tarleton State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff to their future schedules per their athletics website.

Texas Tech will face transition FCS Independent Tarleton State on September 16, 2023. This marks the first contest between the two programs and also replaces a previously scheduled game on the same date between Texas Tech and Missouri State. There has been no update on the status of that game.

Texas Tech will also face Arkansas-Pine Bluff for two games in the 2025 and 2027 season. The 2025 game is currently scheduled for Saturday, August 30 while the 2027 matchup is scheduled for Saturday, September 4. UAPB was recently added to future football schedule of Tulsa as well.

With the announcement of these three games, Texas Tech now has an FCS opponent scheduled for each season through 2027. The Red Raiders will face Alabama State (2020), Stephen F. Austin (2021), Murray State (2022), and Abilene Christian (2024 and 2026).
