South Dakota State and Iowa State to Play in 2027

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits will travel to play the Iowa State Cyclones in 2027 according to FBSchedules.

The two schools will meet on Saturday, September 4, 2027 in Ames, Iowa with the Jackrabbits will receive a guarantee of $550,000 for the game. The two teams have met 3 times in 1952, 1954, and 2008. Iowa State has won all three games (page 8) by an average score of 45-14.

The two teams started the scheduled 2018 contest with Iowa State holding a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. After a nearly two and a half-hour weather delay, the game was abandoned.

Iowa State continues to schedule regional FCS opponents. In addition to SDSU, they will play South Dakota (2020 and 2025), Northern Iowa (2021 and 2023), Southeast Missouri State (2022), and North Dakota (2024).

South Dakota State has FBS opponents Nebraska (2020, 2028, and 2030), Colorado State (2021), Iowa (2022), and Northwestern (2026) on its future schedules.
