Presbyterian Cancels Two Additional Games

The Presbyterian Blue Hose announced a total of six cancellations on Monday afternoon. Some of those games were previously canceled due to decisions from other conferences.

Games against Morehead State (9/3), Johnson C. Smith (9/12), Virginia-Wise (9/19), and Stetson (10/3) were previously known. Both Morehead State and Stetson are members of the Pioneer Football League, which canceled its non-conference games on Monday.

Johnson C. Smith and Virginia-Wise are Division II members of the Center Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and South Atlantic Conference (SAC), respectively. The CIAA canceled its fall sports in a joint decision with the SIAC earlier in July. The SAC moved to a conference only schedule last week.

The two new cancellations are home games against Merrimack on Saturday, November 14 and Virginia Lynchburg on Saturday, November 21. Merrimack is a member of the Northeast Conference while Virginia Lynchburg is a member of the NCCAA.

As of this writing, 372 games for the 2020 season involving FCS teams have now been canceled or postponed.

Presbyterian is now done to just five games – at Gardner-Webb (9/26), at Incarnate Word (10/10), Erskine College (10/24), at Campbell (10/31), and at Furman (11/7).

The Blue Hose are an FCS independent for the 2020 season. They will become a member of the Pioneer Football League starting in 2021.
