Marist has hired Mike Willis to be its next head coach. Willis has been Princeton’s offensive coordinator since 2020.
Willis was a player at Princeton from 2010 through 2013, which included the Tigers’ 2013 Ivy League title they shared with Harvard. He joined the Tigers as a coaching intern in 2015 and was promoted to tight ends coach a year later. In 2017, he became an assistant head coach and was given the recruiting coordinator duties in 2019.
Willis was named the offensive coordinator in 2020 but the Ivy League did not compete in the 2020 fall or 2021 spring seasons. In his first season as OC in 2021, the Tigers averaged 33.4 points per game and won a share of the Ivy League title with Dartmouth.
Willis will take the reins from longtime head coach Jim Parady who retired after 31 seasons with Marist. Parady went 155-171-1 overall and won a share of 4 conference titles in his tenure (3 MAAC championships and 1 PFL championship).
