Presbyterian and Western Carolina Agree to 2026 Matchup; UTRGV Adds D-II Opponent for 2027

The Presbyterian Blue Hose and Western Carolina Catamounts have added a 2026 matchup with the Blue Hose set to receive a $105,000 guarantee, according to FBSchedules. Western Carolina will host Presbyterian on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The two schools have squared off 20 times previous between 1950 and 2022. The Catamounts lead the overall series 11-9 with a two-game winning streak and won 10 of the previous 11 matchups.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has added another non-Division I opponent to its future schedule, per FBSchedules. UTRGV will welcome Texas A&M-Kingsville out of the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference on Saturday, September 4, 2027. Kingsville will receive $50,000 for the game. UTRGV is also slated to play against Lone Star member Sul Ross State to start the 2025 season, which will be the Vaqueros’ inaugural football campaign.
