Big Sky Receives Big News for 2024 and 2025 National Games; Three Future FCS Games Set

In late May 2024, ESPN announced that two Big Sky Conference games would be nationally televised this season but game times weren’t revealed. Those two games have received kickoff times and both will be shown on ESPN2. Idaho at Montana State on Saturday, October 12 will kick at 10:15 Eastern Time while UC Davis at Montana on Saturday, November 9 will also kick off at 10:15 Eastern Time.

The Big Sky also announced it has extended its rights deal with ESPN and will now have four nationally televised games per season beginning in 2025. The previous deal only provided the Big Sky with two national linear television broadcasts. Perhaps one of the 2025 matchups will be the newly created Potato State Trophy contested by Idaho and Idaho State.

A 2025 matchup between Chattanooga (SoCon) and Stetson (PFL) has been added, according to FBSchedules. The Mocs will host Stetson on Saturday, September 13 while also paying the Hatters $150,000 for the contest. The 2025 matchup will be the first between the schools.

A distant home-and-home series has been set between North Alabama (United Athletic) and Tennessee Martin (Big South-OVC) for the 2029 and 2030 seasons, per FBSchedules. UT Martin will host the first game on Saturday, September 15, 2029, while North Alabama will play host the following season on Saturday, September 14, 2030. North Alabama leads the all-time series 19-13-1 and the 2023 matchup – the first since 1990 – was won on the road by UT Martin 37-21.
