The game between Alabama A&M and Florida A&M has been rescheduled to Friday, November 29 due to the developing Hurricane Helene. The game was set to kick off on Saturday, September 28 at 6 PM Eastern Time in Tallahassee, Florida. Further details on the kickoff time for the rescheduled game will be provided later.
Moving the contest to the last weekend in November will give the SWAC three games for the holiday weekend although it could prevent one of the teams from getting an extra week to prepare for the SWAC Championship. Alabama A&M and Florida A&M were set to end their regular seasons on November 23 before the postponement. The SWAC will have the Turkey Day Classic between Tuskegee and Alabama State, Alabama A&M and Florida A&M, and the Bayou Classic between Grambling State and Southern on consecutive days.
AAMU and FAMU will both go into the impromptu bye week with a 2-2 record before starting conference play on Saturday, October 5. Alabama A&M will play at home versus Jackson State in its next game while FAMU will travel to play Alabama State.
