The Idaho State Bengals (Big Sky) have scheduled a game against the non-affiliated Lincoln University (California) for the 2025 season, according to its website and first noted by FBSchedules. The game is set for Saturday, September 20, 2025.
Lincoln University is located in Oakland, California began football in 2021 as an independent school. The team has a 3-39 record in four seasons and has become a fixture as a fill game for FCS teams. Lincoln played three FCS schools in 2024 and lost by a combined score of 220-18 to Mercyhurst (66-0), Northern Arizona (66-6), and West Georgia (88-12). Both Mercyhurst and West Georgia were in the first season of a four-year reclassification process from NCAA Division II to Division I.
The Lincoln-Idaho State game is the 14th game scheduled between the FCS and non-Division I schools. There were 58 such matchups in 2024.
