VUL is 0-47 all-time against FCS opponents with an average final score of 51-8 in favor of FCS teams. The best result for the Dragons came in 2022 against Presbyterian when VUL lost 21-13.
The Beacons are coming off a 4-7 campaign and let go of former head coach Landon Fox following the season. Valparaiso hired Andy Waddle to lead the program after 12 years with D-II Marietta College. In addition to VUL, Valparaiso will play at two MVFC opponents: Western Illinois on September 13 and North Dakota on September 20.
