The Duquesne Dukes (Northeast) will have a Western flavor to their 2026 non-conference schedule. The Washington State Cougars (Pac-12) announced its 2026 and 2027 non-conference schedules, which included a home game against Duquesne on September 19, 2026.
The matchup will be the first between the Dukes and Cougars but is not the only trip out west for the 2026 season. The Dukes are also slated to play at Air Force (Mountain West) on September 5, 2026. That will also be the first time Duquesne and Air Force meet in football. Duquesne has played two FBS opponents each year since 2021 and has two on tap for 2025 against Pittsburgh (ACC) on August 30 and Akron (MAC) on September 20.
Washington State has future FCS games against Idaho (Big Sky) in 2025, 2027, and 2029. The Cougars’ last loss to the FCS came against Eastern Washington in 2016 by a score of 45-42. It was the second straight year Washington State had lost following a 24-17 defeat by Portland State in 2015.
Duquesen’s has not revealed its 2025 schedule. Only its games against Pittsburgh on August 30, Lehigh (Patriot League) on September 13, and Akron on September 20 are known.
