The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (Southland) have completed their 2025 schedule with the addition of the Sul Ross State Lobos on Saturday, September 13 in Nacogdoches, Texas. The Southland Conference released its entire 2025 schedule on Tuesday.
2025 will mark the second season of Sul Ross State’s membership in the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference. The Lobos went 3-8 overall and 2-6 in the LSC. SFA and SRSU met annually between 1950 and 1975 when both were members of the Lone Star Conference. SFA holds an 18-8 lead in the all-time series. Sul Ross State will play two Southland teams in 2025 with its first matchup on Saturday, August 30 against UTRGV. That game will be the Vaqueros’s first game as an FCS team.
Stephen F. Austin went 7-5 overall and 5-1 in the Southland to finish in a tie for third place in the conference. The Lumberjacks will start the season with road contests at Houston (Big 12) and Abilene Christian (UAC).
