Grambling State Adds NCAA Division II Kentucky State to 2025 Schedule

The Grambling State Tigers (SWAC) have announced their 2025 schedule, which includes the season opener at the Ohio State Buckeyes (Big Ten). The Tigers will welcome the Kentucky State Thorobreds to Grambling, Louisiana on Saturday, September 13. The two teams have played twice before in 1952 and 1953 with Grambling State winning both matchups. Kentucky State is a member of the NCAA Division II Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and finished 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the SIAC in 2024.

The Tigers will end the non-conference schedule with a home game against East Texas A&M (Southland) on Saturday, September 20 before opening SWAC play against Prairie View A&M in Dallas, Texas in the State Fair Classic on Saturday, September 27. After a bye week, the Tigers will welcome Texas Southern on Saturday, October 11, play at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, October 18, and end the month with the Las Vegas HBCU Classic against Jackson State on October 25.

The Tigers will start November with back-to-back home games against Alabama A&M on Saturday, November 1 and Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, November 8. Grambling State will play at Alcorn State on Saturday, November 15 and end the regular season in New Orleans with the 52nd Bayou Classic against Southern on Saturday, November 29.
