With the Northeast Conference unveiling its 2025 schedule, several NEC teams dropped their full 2025 slate including the Duquesne Dukes and Robert Morris Colonials. Both teams added a non-conference clash against an NCAA Division II foe for the 2025 season.
After opening against Pittsburgh (ACC) on Saturday, August 30, Duquesne will welcome the Lincoln (PA) University Lions to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 6. It will be the first meeting between the schools. Lincoln is located in Oxford, Pennsylvania and plays its football in the NCAA Division II Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
Robert Morris will face the West Liberty Hilltoppers in Moon Township, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 13. West Liberty is located in West Liberty, West Virginia and is a member of the NCAA D-II Mountain East Conference. Robert Morris and West Liberty have not met in football.
The NEC will have eight teams for the 2025 season: Central Connecticut State, Duquesne, Long Island, Mercyhurst, Robert Morris, Saint Francis, Stonehill, and Wagner. NEC conference matchups be played in week 3 (Saturday, September 13) and again for week 6 (Saturday, October 4) through 13 (Saturday, November 22). Central Connecticut State and Duquesne finished atop the 2024 NEC standings at 5-1 with CCSU winning the head-to-head matchup versus Duquesne to receive the conference’s automatic bid. The Blue Devils lost a close 21-17 first round game at Rhode Island (CAA).
