The Prairie View A&M Panthers (SWAC) have found a replacement opponent for its 2025 homecoming game on Saturday, October 25. The Panthers will now play the Lincoln (CA) Oaklanders instead of the North American Stallions. Prairie View was originally set to face the NAIA’s North American University but the Stallions discontinued the football team leading to an open date.
Lincoln University is located in Oakland, California, and competes as an independent program without any collegiate affiliation. The Oaklanders are 3-39 in their four seasons and a frequent fixture for FCS programs. Lincoln is 0-17 all-time against FCS teams and has been outscored 837-115 in those games with an average score of 49-7 in favor of FCS teams. This will be the first matchup between Prairie View and Lincoln.
Three other FCS programs are scheduled to face Lincoln during the 2025 season: Idaho State (Big Sky) on Saturday, September 20 followed by three straight SWAC opponents to end October. The Oaklanders will play at Alcorn State on October 11, at Mississippi Valley State on October 18, and at Prairie View A&M on October 25.
