Furman Schedules Four Future FBS Opponents

The Furman Paladins (SoCon) announced four future FBS opponents to close the decade, including three SEC teams and one ACC foe. Furman is already slated to take on the Clemson Tigers (ACC) during the 2025 season on Saturday, November 22.

The Paladins will play at the Tennessee Volunteers (SEC) on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in a game originally scheduled for the 2020 season. It will be the third meeting between the two schools. Tennessee won the first two matchups in Knoxville in 1941 and 1942.

Furman will play at the South Carolina Gamecocks (SEC) on Saturday, September 4, 2027. The schools were frequent opponents in the first half of the 1900s but have only played each other five times between 1960 and 2023. The Gamecocks hold a 29-20-1 advantage in the series including the most recent game in 2023 when they defeated Furman 47-21.

The following season, Furman will play in the Florida Gators (SEC) in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday, September 2, 2028. Florida is 7-2 all-time against Furman in a series that dates back to 1922. Furman won the first two games in 1922 and 1930 while the Gators have won the previous 7 including the most recent matchup in 2011 (54-32).

Furman also added a second game against Clemson on November 17, 2029. Clemson leads 44-10-4 in the all-time series that was first played in 1896. Clemson defeated Furman 35-12 in the most recent matchup in 2022.
