Ole Miss Swaps FCS Opponent for 2026

The Ole Miss Rebels (SEC) have a new FCS opponent for the 2026 season, according to FBSchedules. Ole Miss will now face the Wofford Terriers (SoCon) on Saturday, November 21, 2026 in Oxford, Mississippi.

Ole Miss was previously slated to play Eastern Kentucky (UAC) in 2026 although the date of that matchup was not revealed. It is unknown whether the Eastern Kentucky-Ole Miss game has been moved to a new season or canceled altogether.

Wofford will receive $485,000 for the contest. Wofford and Ole Miss have played once before* in 2016 with the Rebels winning 38-13. Ole Miss was later forced to vacate the game by the NCAA due to ineligible players competing over a six-year stretch from 2010 through 2016, *making the official record between the teams 0-0.

Wofford now has an FBS opponent lined up for the next four seasons: Virginia Tech (ACC) in 2025, Ole Miss (SEC) in 2026, Clemson (ACC) in 2027, and South Carolina (SEC) in 2028. Ole Miss has an FCS opponent in four of the next five seasons: The Citadel (SoCon) in 2025, Wofford in 2026, Alcorn State (SWAC) in 2028, and Southeast Missouri State (OVC-Big South) in 2029. The Rebels do not have an FCS opponent in 2027 at this time.
