Two games involving FCS teams and Massachusetts were added and changed for the 2024 season. First, Central Connecticut State and UMass will play each other on Saturday, September 21. UMass’ game against Wagner originally scheduled for September 21 was moved to Saturday, October 26. Wagner also scheduled a game against Florida Atlantic to be played on Saturday, September 28, which will be the third meeting between the teams (FAU is 2-0 against the Seahawks).
Added to the list of FCS versus FBS matchups for 2024 is Southeast Missouri State at New Mexico State, which will be played on Saturday, August 31. The two teams have not previously met on the gridiron. Additional date changes were made to other FCS-FBS games including New Hampshire’s opening game against Central Florida moving from Saturday, August 31 to Thursday, August 29. The previously announced Long Island versus TCU game will take place on Saturday, September 7.
There are currently 118 FCS-FBS matchups scheduled for 2024, which is only two away from the all-time record set in 2022. There were 118 games in 2023 while the 2021 season had 117 FCS-FBS matchups. A full list of future FCS-FBS matchups for 2024 and beyond is here.
