Southern Illinois and Purdue have scheduled a 2025 contest, according to FBSchedules. The two teams will meet on Saturday, September 6 with SIU set to receive $500,000 for the game. Purdue defeated the Salukies 35-13 in the lone previous matchup in 2014. SIU is also scheduled to meet Big Ten opponents in 2026 (Illinois) and 2027 (Wisconsin). Northern Colorado and South Dakota have agreed to a home-and-home series, per FBSchedules. South Dakota will host the first game on Saturday, September 13, 2025 while Northern Colorado will be the host a year later on Saturday, September 6, 2026. The two teams have met 36 times in football with UNC holding a 20-16 advantage including South Dakota’s victory in both matchups from the most recent home-and-home series in 2018 and 2019.
The other all-FCS home-and-home series was scheduled between Western Carolina and Campbell, courtesy of FBSchedules. Campbell will host the first matchup on Saturday, September 5, 2026 while Western Carolina will play host the following season on Saturday, September 18, 2027. The two schools have met twice previously, albeit back in the 1930s before Campbell shut its program down following the 1950 season. Campbell won both games by a score of 7-6 in 1937 and 20-0 in 1939.
