One of the opening FCS games of the 2024 season has seen its broadcast network change. The McNeese (Southland) at Tarleton State (United Athletic) matchup taking place on Saturday, August 24 at 3:30 PM Eastern Time will be shown on ESPN2. The game was previously scheduled to be broadcast on ESPNU. The Cowboys and Texans are one of five FCS games for Week 0 with Montana State–New Mexico (4 PM ET), Southeast Missouri State–North Alabama (7 PM ET), Norfolk State–Florida A&M (7:30 PM ET), and Delaware State–Hawaii (Time TBD) also scheduled.
The 2025 contest between the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles (Big South-OVC) and the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions (Southland) has been moved up a week, according to FBSchedules. The game will now be played on Saturday, September 13, 2025, instead of Saturday, September 20. The two teams previously met in 2022 when Tennessee Tech scored a touchdown with 2 seconds remaining and escaped with a 26-25 win at home.
UC Davis (Big Sky) announced it has scheduled two future games against UCLA (Big Ten). UC Davis will play in Pasadena on Saturday, August 28, 2027, and on Saturday, September 1, 2029. The two sides have only met twice before in 1932 and 1934 with UCLA winning both games. There are 455 future FCS versus FBS games including a record 121 for the 2024 season.
