Richmond, Southeast Missouri State, and Stephen F. Austin Add Future FBS Opponents

Stephen F. Austin (Southland) and Kansas (Big 12) have agreed to cancel the matchup scheduled for August 30, 2025, per FBSchedules. The cancellation was expected after SFA and Houston (Big 12) agreed last week to a matchup that will take place on the same day. The Lumberjacks have not faced Houston or Kansas in football before.

Southeast Missouri State (Big South-OVC) and Ole Miss (SEC) will play a 2029 matchup as revealed by FBSchedules. The Redhawks will travel to Oxford, Mississippi on Saturday, September 15, and receive $550,000 for the matchup. The teams have only met once when Ole Miss won 31-13 in 2013 although the NCAA later vacated the win.

Richmond and Virginia (ACC) have scheduled a 2031 matchup as noted by FBSchedules. The teams will meet on Saturday, September 20, and Richmond will receive $520,000 for the game. Virginia holds a commanding lead in the series 30-3-2 with Richmond’s wins coming in 1943, 1946, and 2016. The two schools are set to meet in 2024 in Richmond’s final year in the CAA before joining the Patriot League in 2025 and again in 2028. There are now 6 FCS-FBS matchups scheduled for 2031 and a full list of future games can be found here.
