2 FCS Games Postponed Due to Hurricane Helene, 4 Others Change Kickoff Times

Editor’s Note: This article has been updated to reflect the new kickoff location, date, and time for the Presbyterian-Davidson game, the change in kickoff between Tennessee Tech and Gardner-Webb, and the kickoff change time between East Tennessee State and The Citadel.

Two additional FCS games have been postponed due to the impacts caused by Hurricane Helene. Samford’s game at Furman was scheduled to be played at 1 PM ET in Greenville, South Carolina but that matchup has been postponed as was the scheduled game between Presbyterian and Davidson. The Blue Hose were set to host the Wildcats at 7 PM ET kick in Clinton, South Carolina. Davidson later announced that its game will be played at 5 PM ET on Sunday, September 29 with the Wildcats hosting in Davidson, North Carolina.

With the two postponements for September 28, three FCS games have been postponed due to Hurricane Helene. Alabama A&M and Florida A&M previously announced their scheduled contest was moved to Friday, November 29. FAMU’s facilities appear to be “in decent shape” following the hurricane’s landfall on Thursday evening.

Four additional FCS games saw kickoff times change for Saturday, September 28. The matchup between Mercer and Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina has been moved from 1:30 PM ET to 3 PM ET and the game between Tennessee Tech and Garnder-Webb was moved from 4 PM ET to 2 PM ET in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. The contest between East Tennessee State and The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina was moved from 2 PM ET to 5 PM ET. Unrelated to the Hurricane, the game between San Diego and Drake in Des Moines, Iowa was moved from 2 PM ET to 1 PM ET.

This post will be updated if additional postponements or kickoff times for games on Saturday, September 28 are announced.
