Lafayette (Patriot League) and Oregon State (Pac-12) are also adding a 2025 FCS-FBS matchup, per Oregon State’s 2025 scheduled release. Lafayette will visit Corvallis, Oregon on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in what is set to be the first matchup between the two schools. Lafayette also has a contest against Bowling Green (MAC) scheduled to open the 2025 season.
According to a release by App State, Lindenwood (Big South-OVC) will face Appalachian State (Sun Belt) in 2025. Lindenwood will travel to Boone, North Carolina on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in the first matchup between the schools. The Lindenwood-App State game will replace the previously scheduled contest between Eastern Kentucky and App State on the same date. With the Lafayette-OSU and Lindenwood-App State games revealed, there are now 108 FCS-FBS games scheduled for the 2025 season.
Abilene Christian (United Athletic) and Stephen F. Austin (Southland) have agreed to continue their series through the 2027 season. SFA will host ACU on Saturday, September 12, 2026 while ACU will host the following season on Saturday, September 18, 2027. The two schools have met 25 times since 1973 with SFA holding a 13-12 lead in the all-time series. ACU will play at SFA to end the 2024 season on Saturday, November 23.
