Weber State and James Madison to Meet in 2025

Weber State (Big Sky) will travel to face former FCS program James Madison (Sun Belt) to start the 2025 season. The Wildcats will make the trek to Harrisonburg, Virginia for the August 30 contest. JMU is 3-0 all-time versus Weber State with victories in the 2017 FCS Playoff quarterfinals, 2019 FCS Playoff semifinals, and a 2021 regular season contest.

To make room for Weber State, JMU has canceled the August 30 matchup against Tennessee Tech (Big South-OVC). The Golden Eagles were set to face JMU for the first time in football. TTU still has a 2025 matchup scheduled against Kentucky (SEC) on Saturday, November 15.

Weber State now has 2 FBS opponents scheduled for 2025 with a road trip against Arizona (Big 12) set for Saturday, September 6. It is the first time the Wildcats have multiple FBS opponents scheduled in the same season since 2019 when they faced San Diego State (6-0 loss) and Nevada (19-13 loss) from the Mountain West. Currently known future games in 2026 and beyond are against Big 12 teams Colorado (2026), BYU (2027 and 2030), and Utah (2029).

There are 111 FCS versus FBS matchups scheduled for the 2025 season and over 370 scheduled from 2025 through 2034. A full listing can be found here.
