Morehead State Extends Jason Woodman Through 2028

The Morehead State Eagles (Pioneer) have extended head coach Jason Woodman through the 2028 season. Woodman went 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the PFL in his debut season with the Eagles.

Woodman was hired in December 2023 after a decade in charge of the NCAA Division II Fairmont State Fighting Eagles. He went 60-47 with Fairmont State including five winning seasons and a D-II Playoff appearance in 2016. Woodman replaced Rob Tenyer, who went 47-73 overall in 11 seasons.

Morehead State started the 2024 campaign with back-to-back wins against non-Division I opponents before losing back-to-back road games at Montana and Eastern Kentucky. The Eagles won their opening PFL game at home against Valparaiso 17-5 followed by a 40-6 loss at Butler. MSU then won three games in a row to reach 6-3 overall but finished 1-2 over the last three games. The lone victory in the final trio of games was a big one against the eventual PFL champions Drake. The Eagles finished in a tie for third place in the Pioneer Football League alongside Butler and St. Thomas (MN) at 5-3.
