The Samford Bulldogs (Southern) have added a game at the Baylor Bears (Big 12) for the 2025 season. Samford will travel to Waco, Texas to play the Bears on Saturday, September 13 at McLane Stadium. The Bulldogs will have two FBS opponents for 2025 with a second game set for November 22 at Texas A&M (SEC).
Samford and Baylor have met twice before with Baylor winning both previous matchups. Baylor won 50-12 in 2002 and 48-14 in 2005. Samford has an additional future FBS opponent lined up with a 2027 matchup against Georgia Southern (Sun Belt) on September 4, 2027. Baylor has one FCS opponent scheduled beyond 2025 with a home game against Prairie View A&M (SWAC) slated for September 12, 2026.
The addition of Samford and Baylor puts the FCS-FBS matchup total at 119 for the 2025 season, two fewer than the record set in the 2024 campaign. That number is likely to fluctuate due to changes. A full list of future FCS-FBS matchups, including the 119 in 2025, can be found here.
