The Florida A&M Rattlers (SWAC) announced their 2025 schedule including a swap of FBS opponents for the upcoming season.
The Rattlers will open the season against Howard (MEAC) on Saturday, August 30, in the Orange Blossom Classic. That game replaces a previously scheduled contest against South Alabama (Sun Belt) on the same date, which would have been the first matchup between the two programs. A new date for that game has not been announced.
FAMU will now play at the Florida Atlantic Owls (American Athletic) on Saturday, September 6, in Boca Raton, Florida. The teams met once previously in 2004 with the Owls winning 38-8. Florida A&M was previously expected to play against the Florida Gators on Saturday, October 11, 2025, but that game was either moved or canceled. Instead, the Gators will play against Long Island (Northeast).
After the FAU game, FAMU will face NCAA Division II Albany State on September 13 before taking on Alabama State and Mississippi Valley State in SWAC play. The Rattlers will wrap up their non-conference schedule with a home game against North Carolina Central (MEAC) on October 11. The season will conclude with six straight weeks of SWAC games against Alcorn State (home), Southern (road), Jackson State (home), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (away), Alabama A&M (away), and Bethune-Cookman (at a neutral site in Orlando, Florida).
