The Alabama A&M Bulldogs (SWAC) released their 2025 schedule, which included two new additions to round out the non-conference slate. The Bulldogs went 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the SWAC in 2024.
The Bulldogs and Tennessee State Tigers (OVC-Big South) announced the Legacy Series that will be played over the next four seasons. The Tigers will host games in Nashville, Tennessee during the 2025 and 2027 seasons while the Bulldogs will host in Huntsville, Alabama in the 2026 and 2028 seasons. This year’s game will be played on Saturday, September 13, and will be the 24th all-time between the teams in a matchup that started in 1973. Tennessee State holds a 15-8 advantage after winning the most recent matchup 27-14 in 2010.
Alabama A&M will face NCAA Division II Lane College the following week on Saturday, September 20. The Dragons play in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and went 4-6 overall in 2024. Alabama A&M holds a 5-0-1 lead in the series that dates back to 1948 and won the previous meeting in 2023 by a score of 51-13.
Sam Shade will make his coaching debut for Alabama A&M on Saturday, August 30 at Arkansas (SEC) followed by a home game against Alcorn State (SWAC) on Saturday, September 6.
