The Morehead State Eagles (PFL) have completed their schedule for 2025 by adding a second non-FCS opponent. The Eagles will open the season against the NCAA Division II Allen Yellow Jackets on Saturday, August 30. Morehead State will then have back-to-back road games at Illinois State (MVFC) on September 6 and Austin Peay (UAC) on September 13.
The second non-FCS opponent will be on Saturday, September 20, when the Kentucky Christian Knights visit Morehead, Kentucky. The two schools met in 2024 with Morehead State winning 48-7 to extend the series lead to 6-0 all-time against KCU. Kentucky Christian is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), with the football team competing in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
PFL competition will kickoff on September 27 at Presbyterian, followed by a home game against Dayton on October 4. The month of October will end with a road trip matchup at Stetson on October 11, a home matchup against Marist on October 18, and a trip to Valparaiso on October 25. November will start with a pair of home games against Davidson on November 1 and Butler on November 8. After a bye, the regular season will end with a trip to Des Moines, Iowa to face Drake on November 22.
Morehead State went 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the PFL in Jason Woodman’s first season with the Eagles in 2024. It was a strong enough campaign that Woodman received a contract extension through 2028 during the offseason.
