Butler Adds Truman State to Finalize 2025 Schedule

The Butler Bulldogs (PFL) have added a non-conference game against the Truman State Bulldogs to round out their 2025 schedule. Butler also confirmed a previously reported game against NCAA Division III Hanover College on Saturday, September 13.

Turman State will visit Butler in Indianapolis on Saturday, September 6. Truman State is a member of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The two teams met once previously in 1987 when TSU was known as Northeast Missouri State University, and the university subsequently became known as Truman State starting in 1996. Butler won the only previous matchup 27-22.

There are now 58 games scheduled between FCS teams and non-Division I opponents for the 2025 season, matching last year’s scheduled total. The 2024 Quincy-Drake matchup on August 29 was canceled due to severe weather, with only 57 FCS versus non-Division I games played last season. The full list of 2025 matchups can be found here. The Pioneer Football League has 14 matchups scheduled, one more than the SWAC.
