The Charleston Southern Buccaneers (OVC-Big South) are set to take on the Florida Gators (SEC) in 2027, according to FBSchedules. The two teams will meet on Saturday, September 11, 2027, with the Buccaneers receiving $500,000 for the game.
Charleston Southern and Florida have met twice previously with the Gators winning big each time. Florida won 62-3 in the first meeting back in 2009 and won 53-6 in the 2018 matchup. The Buccaneers have no shortage of FBS opponents through the end of the decade: Coastal Carolina (Sun Belt) and Vanderbilt (SEC) in 2025, Clemson (ACC) in 2026, the Gators in 2027, Charlotte (American) and East Carolina (American) in 2028, and Georgia Southern (Sun Belt) in 2029.
Florida has an FCS opponent scheduled each of the next four seasons. The Gators will take on Long Island (NEC) this season, Campbell (CAA) in 2026, Charleston Southern in 2027, and Furman (SoCon) in 2028. Over 400 future FCS-FBS matchups are scheduled through the 2034 season, including 68 in 2027.
