The Tarleton State Texans will not be playing FCS football this fall as the school announced it would seek to play a spring season.
The Texans had three games officially canceled for its 2020 season. Those three games were against Texas-Permian Basin (9/19), Eastern New Mexico (10/3), and Bethune-Cookman (10/31). The remaining 8 games featured a mix of 2 Division II opponents and 6 FCS teams. All 8 opponents are listed below.

The Texans were scheduled to play their first FCS season as an Independent in 2020 after moving up from Division II. Tarleton State joined the Western Athletic Conference and 2020 marked the first year of a four-year transition process to becoming a full Division I member.
