Texas A&M-Commerce has announced a matchup against Tulsa to be played in 2026. The Lions will travel to face Tulsa on Saturday, September 19 in the first matchup between the two teams. Commerce also has scheduled games against FBS foes in 2024 versus San Diego State (8/31) and Florida State in 2026 (9/6). Commerce played its first FBS opponent in 2023 and lost a nailbiter at Old Dominion 10-9.
Also scheduling a 2026 matchup were Alabama State and Troy. The two teams will play on Saturday, September 12, 2026 for the first time since 2000. Troy is 14-2 all-time against Alabama State dating back to the first meeting in 1974. Alabama State only has one other FBS opponent on its future schedules with a contest against UAB on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
West Georgia also added Troy for a future game as the two schools will meet on the gridiron for the first time since 1991. The two schools will play in Troy, Alabama on Saturday, September 9, 2028. The two schools met 8 times between 1984 and 1991 with Troy winning 7 of the 8 matchups. Troy is the second future FBS opponent announced by West Georgia. In late 2023, UWG announced a game at Cincinnati on September 4, 2027, which is currently scheduled as the school’s first FBS matchup. West Georgia is moving up from NCAA Division II to join the United Athletic Confernece in 2024.
Over 445 FCS versus FBS games have been scheduled through the 2034 season including a record 121 contests in 2024. A full list of all future FCS-FBS matchups can be found here.
