Lafayette (Patriot League) has added Air Force (Mountain West) to its 2027 schedule as noted in the school’s 2024 football media guide and reported by FBSchedules. Lafayette will travel to Colorado Springs on Saturday, September 4, in what will be the second all-time meeting between the schools. Air Force won the first meeting 35-14 in 2021, which coincidentally was also played on September 4.
North Alabama (United Athletic) has announced a 2028 game at Auburn (SEC). The Lions will play at the Tigers on Saturday, September 9, 2028, in the first meeting between the two schools. North Alabama is also scheduled to face Mississippi State on Saturday, September 2, 2028, which represents the first two games against the SEC for the Lions.
Texas Southern (SWAC) and UTEP (C-USA) will meet in 2026, per FBSchedules. The Tigers will travel to El Paso to play on Saturday, September 12, 2026, and receive $350,000 for the contest. The teams met three times between 2001 and 2007 with UTEP winning all three games. There are over 350 FCS-FBS games scheduled between 2025 and 2034 with the addition of these three games.
