NCAA Selects Nashville to Host 2026 and 2027 FCS Championship Games

The NCAA has selected Nashville, Tennessee host the 2026 and 2027 FCS National Championship Games. Those games will take place after the 2025 and 2026 seasons, respectively. The title games will be played at Vanderbilt University’s FirstBank Stadium and hosted by the Ohio Valley Conference.

Toyota Stadium in Frisco is the current home of the FCS Championship but will undergo renovations after this season’s National Championship on Monday, January 6, 2025. The renovations will require the closure of half the stadium, which cuts the maximum capacity and led to the NCAA looking at alternatives. Nashville was revealed as a possible host site in early December while other potential hosts included Houston, Kansas City, St. Louis, or keeping the games in the Frisco area. FirstBank Stadium is undergoing renovations right now but will be completed by the 2025 season with a capacity of 30,000.

The 2024 season marks the 15th straight year Frisco has hosted the FCS National Championship, which has been the title game’s home since 2010. Chattanooga, Tennessee is the next highest at 13 having hosted the title game annually from 1997 through 2009. Nashville will become the 11th different city to host an FCS National Championship game.

The hosts for FCS National Championship games beyond 2027 will undergo a bidding process and be evaluated by the NCAA. This season’s FCS National Championship will kick off at 7 PM Eastern on Monday, January 6, 2025, and broadcast on ESPN.
