The Tarleton State Texans (UAC) and Texas A&M Aggies (SEC) contest originally scheduled for the 2025 season has been moved to the 2026 season, according to FBSchedules. The new date is Saturday, November 21, 2026, in what will be the first football matchup of the two schools.
The Texans were scheduled to play against the Aggies on Saturday, November 22, 2025, until TAMU released its 2025 schedule that showed Samford (Southern) as its opponent for the same date. It was revealed a week later that Tarleton State scheduled Army (American Athletic) for Saturday, August 30, 2025.
Tarleton State now has three future FBS teams on its schedule: Army in 2025, Texas A&M in 2026, and North Texas (American Athletic) in 2027. Texas A&M also currently has three FCS opponents on its future schedule: Samford in 2025, Tarleton State in 2026, and Abilene Christian (UAC) in 2028.
With the confirmation of Tarleton State and Texas A&M moving to 2026, there are now 89 FCS versus FBS games slated for that season. A full list of all future FCS-FBS matchups can be found here.
