The Merrimack Warriors (FCS Independent) will play at the Kennesaw State Owls (C-USA), per KSU’s announcement. The two programs will meet for the first time on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Kennesaw, Georgia.
In addition to Kennesaw State, the Warriors will play at Kent State (MAC) to open the 2025 season on Saturday, August 30. Merrimack is coming off a 5-6 campaign in its first season as an FCS independent in 2024. Beyond next season, Merrimack is scheduled to play Delaware (C-USA) on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Kennesaw State was a former FCS program from 2015 through 2023 before leaving to join Conference USA beginning with the 2024 season. The Owls went 2-10 overall and 2-6 in Conference USA games. One of KSU’s losses last year was against UT Martin, one of six FCS wins against the FBS for the 2024 season. Kennesaw State was slated to play against Chattanooga (SoCon) this year but that game has been moved to a new season or canceled.
Merrimack hasn’t released its full 2025 schedule but is expected to play at Colgate (Patriot League), Sacred Heart (FCS Independent), and Stony Brook (CAA) while hosting Maine (CAA) and Fordham (Patriot League).
