San Jose State Adjusts Five Future FCS Games

The San Jose State Spartans (Mountain West) have made numerous changes to their future schedules, as first noted by FBSchedules. Five of those changes involve FCS teams, including new additions, removals, and date changes.

San Jose State will play at home against the Mercyhurst Lakers (NEC) on Saturday, September 2, 2028. It will be the first meeting between the schools. SJSU was slated to play against the Howard Bison (MEAC) on the same day, but the game has been shifted to Saturday, September 4, 2032.

In 2029, SJSU’s game against Holy Cross (Patriot League), scheduled for Saturday, August 25, has been replaced with a matchup against the Utah Tech Trailblazers (UAC) on Saturday, September 15. It will be the first matchup between the teams. It is not known if the Holy Cross-SJSU matchup will be moved to a new season or canceled.

The final item to note is that San Jose State will play at home against the Robert Morris Colonials (NEC) on Saturday, September 10, 2033. It will be the first matchup between the two programs.

San Jose State now has at least one FCS opponent scheduled annually through the 2033 season. The Spartans will face Idaho (Big Sky) in 2025, Cal Poly (Big Sky) in 2026, Portland State (Big Sky) in 2027, Mercyhurst (NEC) in 2028, Utah Tech (UAC) in 2029, Cal Poly again in 2030, Chattanooga (SoCon) in 2031, Howard (MEAC) in 2032, and Robert Morris (NEC) in 2033.
