The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has set its FCS debut, according to FBSchedules. The Vaqueros will play against the NCAA Division II program Sul Ross State on Saturday, August 30, 2025. SRSU is moving up from NCAA Division III to the Lone Star Conference beginning July 1, 2024. UTRGV is making its own move within Division I from the WAC to the Southland beginning in 2024 and the Vaqueros will start playing football in 2025.
In 2029, Southeastern Louisiana will travel to face TCU on Saturday, September 1. FBSchedules is reporting that the Lions will receive $600,000 for the contest. It will be the second meeting between the two teams with TCU winning the first matchup in 2013 by a score of 38-17. SE Louisiana now has at least one FBS opponent scheduled each year until 2029 with matchups against Tulane (2024), Southern Miss (2024), Louisiana Tech (2025), South Alabama (2026), Louisiana-Monroe (2026), Troy (2027), and Oklahoma State (2028).
With the addition of Southeastern Louisiana and TCU, there are 451 FCS versus FBS matchups scheduled between 2024 and 2034. A full list of those games can be found here.
