The Alabama A&M Bulldogs (SWAC) and UAB Blazers (American) have scheduled a 2026 contest. The Bulldogs will travel to Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday, September 3, 2026, for the fourth all-time meeting between the schools. The Blazers are 3-0 all-time versus Alabama A&M (page 52) with wins in 2014 (41-14), 2017 (38-7), and 2022 (59-0).
The addition of AAMU means UAB will face SWAC opponents three years in a row. UAB defeated Alcorn State 41-3 to open the 2024 season and have future games against Alabama State on Thursday, August 28, 2025, and Florida A&M on Thursday, September 2, 2027. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs now have two FBS opponents on its future schedule with Arkansas on August 30, 2025, and the 2026 matchup against UAB.
There are now over 365 FCS-FBS matchups set between 2025 and 2034 with a full listing here. For the 2026 season, there are 86 with the addition of Alabama A&M at UAB.
