The Eastern Washington Eagles (Big Sky) and Hampton Pirates (CAA) have added FBS opponents to their future schedules.
Hampton will play at the Old Dominion Monarchs (Sun Belt) on Saturday, September 16, 2028, according to FBSchedules. Hampton will receive $325,000 for the contest, which will take place in Norfolk, Virginia. Hampton and Old Dominion squared off six times previously, with the Monarchs winning all six matchups between 2010 and 2021. The most recent matchup was a 47-7 victory for Old Dominion.
Hampton has two future FBS teams lined up with games against Maryland (Big Ten) in 2026 and Old Dominion in 2028. Meanwhile, ODU has an FCS opponent scheduled for each of the next five seasons: North Carolina Central (MEAC) in 2025, Norfolk State (MEAC) in 2026 and 2027, Hampton in 2028, and William & Mary (Patriot) in 2029.
Eastern Washington will play at the Washington State Cougars (Pac-12) on Saturday, September 14, 2030, per FBSchedules. EWU will receive $550,000 for the game in Pullman, Washington. Washington State holds a 4-1 meeting in the series that began in 1907 and was most recently played in 2018. The Cougars won in 1907, 1908, 2012, and 2018, while Eastern Washington pulled the 45-42 upset in the 2016 season opener. The Eagles reached the FCS semifinals that season, losing a 40-38 thriller at home to Youngstown State.
EWU has five future games against regional FBS opponents scheduled through the end of the decade. The Eagles will face Boise State (Mountain West) in 2025, Washington (Big Ten) in 2026 and 2028, Oregon (Big Ten) in 2028, and Washington State in 2030. Washington State will play against Idaho (Big Sky) in 2025, 2027, and 2029, Duquesne (Northeast) in 2026, and Eastern Washington in 2030.
