The 2020 NFL Draft began on Thursday with incredible ratings due to being one of the few sporting events on TV.
There were no first round FCS selections, but that changed on day two with the second and third rounds. Jeremey Chinn of Southern Illinois was the first FCS player selected with the 64th and final pick of the second round by the Carolina Panthers.
Adam Trautman from Dayton became the second FCS player selected. He was taken with the 105th overall pick in the third round by the New Orleans Saints.
According to a post by Hero Sports, the FCS has averaged about 18 NFL Draft selections per year since 1993 when the draft expanded to 7 rounds. The fewest amount of FCS players chosen was 12 in 2003 while the most FCS players chosen occurred in 1996.
