James Madison will travel to face Liberty on Saturday, October 31, 2026 according to a report by FBSchedules.
The Dukes will receive a guarantee of $400,000 for the game. The two teams have met 18 times since 1980 with James Madison holding a 12-6 overall lead. Liberty won the last encounter in the 2014 FCS Playoffs 26-21.
Liberty has four other FCS opponents on its future schedules – North Carolina A&T (2020), Campbell (2021 and 2024), Gardner-Webb (2022), and East Tennessee State (2023).
Last month James Madison announced 11 non-conference games through the 2025 season. Included on that list are FBS opponents North Carolina (2020 and 2024), Louisville (2022), and Virginia Tech (2025).
The Dukes tentatively open the 2020 season against Delaware at home on Saturday, September 5.
