Central Connecticut State’s 2024 season opener against Central Michigan was moved up from Saturday, August 31 to Thursday, August 29. That change will make 4 FCS versus MAC games that day along with Duquesne–Toledo, Fordham–Bowling Green, and Lafayette–Buffalo. CCSU has played MAC opponents five times since 2007 but has not won any of those matchups. Also moving up from a Saturday to Thursday was Northwestern State’s game at South Alabama. The matchup was originally scheduled for Saturday, September 14 but will now be played on Thursday, September 12. The two schools have not previously played each other in football.
One future game was announced with Wagner set to play at James Madison on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The two schools have not previously met even when JMU was a member of the FCS. There are now over 425 future FCS versus FBS matchups scheduled between 2024 and 2034 and a searchable table can be found here.
