The 2024 season is quickly approaching and with it is a record number of FCS versus FBS games. There are 121 FCS games scheduled, which is one more than the previous record of 120 set in 2022 and three more games than the 2023 season. Since 2012 only two seasons ended with fewer than 100 FCS-FBS matchups: 2017 (98 games) and the ill-fated 2020 season when 36 were completed. 111 of the 121 games have a broadcast partner with 10 matchups awaiting a finalized kickoff time (and subsequent broadcast information in some cases).
Of the 129 FCS programs for the 2024 season, 96 will play at least one FBS opponent and 25 will play two FBS foes in 2024. A full breakdown by conference can be found at the bottom of the page. Week 1 will feature a record amount of Thursday night games with 19 slated to be played with the previous record set in 2010 when 11 games were played. Every year from 2010 through 2023 had between 7 and 11 except for 2020, which had one Thursday night contest on opening week.

This post will be updated as the 2024 season unfolds to reflect any additional changes to kickoff dates, times, and television broadcasts.
