SWAC Announces 19 Digital Network Games for 2024; Nine Games Involving FCS Teams Revealed

The SWAC has announced another set of games that will be broadcast on YouTube via its digital network for the upcoming 2024 season. 19 games in total will be shown on the SWAC Digital Network between Saturday, September 7 through Saturday, November 16. 11 of the 19 games will be conference matchups while the other 8 will be non-conference games featuring teams from the FCS, NCAA Division II, NAIA, and NCCAA. Last week, HBCU Go – a free streaming service – announced that 14 games involving SWAC teams would be streamed digitally for the 2024 season. In addition to the 33 games to be shown on streaming services, the SWAC will also have another 34 games shown on ESPN networks, which doesn’t include some of the FCS versus FBS matchups this fall.

South Carolina State (MEAC) will play at South Carolina (SEC) in 2025, according to the school’s website and noted by FBSchedules. The two teams are slated to meet on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The Gamecocks are 3-0 all-time against SCSU with an average score of 42-9 from their victories in 2007, 2009, and 2022. There are 457 future FCS versus FBS games including 99 scheduled for the 2025 season with a full listing here.

The 2026 matchup between Northern Iowa (MVFC) and Iowa State (Big 12) has been moved to the 2031 season. The Panthers were originally scheduled to play the Cyclones on Saturday, September 5, 2026, but the new date is Saturday, August 31, 2031. Taking the place of the 2026 UNI game for Iowa State will be Southeast Missouri State (Big South-OVC) on the same date. Iowa State won the lone matchup between the schools in 2022 by a score of 42-10. There are 83 FCS-FBS games scheduled for 2026 and the distant 2031 season currently has 5 FCS-FBS matchups scheduled.

Albany (CAA) and Cornell (Ivy League) have agreed to complete a home-and-home series, according to FBSchedules. The two schools will meet this season on Saturday, October 5 with Cornell hosting and will also play on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with Albany hosting. The two schools haven’t met in football before.

Austin Peay (Big South-OVC) announced two future series that will both commence in 2025. The Governors will have a home-and-home series with Samford (SoCon) in 2025 and 2028 while they will host a pair of games against Morehead State (PFL) in 2025 and 2026. Austin Peay will host Samford on Saturday, November 15, 2025, while they will travel to Alabama on Saturday, September 16, 2028. The two schools have played twice before in 2006 and 2007 with each team winning a game. The Governors will host Morehead State on Saturday, September 13, 2025, and Saturday, September 12, 2026. Austin Peay is 4-5 all-time against the Eagles but has won the last four games.

Eastern Washington (Big Sky) and Northern Iowa (MVFC) are set to meet in a home-and-home series for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, per FBSchedules. UNI will host the first matchup on Saturday, September 13, 2025, while EWU will play host the following season on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The latter game replaces Northern Iowa’s originally scheduled matchup against Iowa State on the same date. UNI holds a 7-2 lead in the all-time series dating back to 1985. EWU has won the last two matchups including the first round matchup in the 2021 FCS Playoffs.
