Morehead State and Saint Andrews Will Not Meet in 2020

The Morehead State Eagles and Saint Andrews Knights will not meet in 2020 according to the schedules posted on each school’s athletic website. The schools were scheduled to meet on Thursday, September 24 in Morehead, Kentucky.

September 24 through September 26 is the fourth week of the season for Division I teams. Morehead State now shows a bye for that week while Saint Andrews will travel to face Kentucky Christian on September 26.

The Knights provided a press release to unveil their 2020 schedule on June 12 while the updated NAIA guidelines for the 2020 season were released on June 7. Had the meeting occurred on September 24, it would have been the first matchup for the two schools on the gridiron.

Saint Andrews is a member of the Mid-South Conference in the NAIA. They are located in Laurinburg, North Carolina and are a recent startup team having its first season in 2017.

Morehead State is now down to 10 opponents for the 2020 season as no opponent has been named in place of Saint Andrews. The Eagles also have a bye on Halloween.

Morehead State is tentatively scheduled to start the season on Thursday, September 3 at home against Presbyterian.
