The Southern Conference became the seventh FCS conference to release its spring schedule on Wednesday with a few caveats.
The conference slate will start on Saturday, February 20 and finish on Saturday, April 17 with all nine programs participating in the spring season.
Each team will an eight-game schedule with the exception of The Citadel. The Bulldogs will only play 7 games due to the four non-conference games they played this fall. The one team they will not play is Furman and the contest will be considered a forfeit. As a result, the Bulldogs will not be eligible for the Southern Conference title.
Selection for the playoffs will be on Sunday, April 18 with the first-round games slated to commence the following weekend. The FCS Playoffs will end on May 14, 15, or 16 with the National Championship Game in Frisco, Texas with the exact date to be determined later.
The SWAC, MEAC, Southland, MVFC, CAA, and Ohio Valley all previously announced at least some details of their spring football schedules.
